These are the most-watched movies and TV shows on Google TV in 2024

As the year nears its end, Google TV is revealing the most-watched movies and TV shows on the platform for 2024. Here’s the full list.

If you turn on your Google TV device today, you’ll find a “Best of 2024” page in the carousel, with a list found inside that details the most-watched content on the platform so far this year. Google says all of these results are based on “watch clicks” through the Google TV homescreen.

Most-watched movies on Google TV in 2024

Starting with the most-watched movies released in 2024, Google TV users watched “Road House” starring Jake Gyllenhaal more than anything else. The movie, available to watch on Prime Video, was released in March 2024. Some other notable inclusions are multiple Apple TV originals, as well as Deadpool & Wolverine, which just hit streaming a week prior to this list going live.

Most-watched TV shows on Google TV in 2024

Moving over to TV shows, the most-watched show was Hulu’s Shogun, which premiered to rave reviews in late February. Other notable and unsurprising inclusions are Fallout, House of the Dragon, and The Bear.

Beyond movies and TV shows, Google TV has also detailed some of the other most popular content viewed on the platform. ION was the most popular of Freeplay’s growing list of free channels, followed by NBC News Now and Dateline channels. Google also detailed the most popular content in select regions, as well as popular songs available through YouTube Music.
