One of the new changes in One UI 7 is that Samsung has added a watermark to the app drawer, an annoying piece of visual clutter. Apparently, though, this will be removed before the final release.
As we reported last week, one of the biggest changes in One UI 7 is that Samsung has finally switched from an app drawer that uses pages to one that vertically scrolls, matching most other Android devices. However, it also came with a new “Secured by Knox” watermark that’s prominently featured in the bottom right corner, and can’t be turned off.
It’s a bit of a frustrating look, as the watermark serves no purpose and appears on top of app icons.
Thankfully, it won’t be sticking around.
A Samsung representative mentioned on company’s forums, as spotted by Tarun Vats on Twitter/X, that the “Secured by Knox blueprint will disappear on the official version.” In other words, this should be going away by the time One UI 7 is fully released next year. That doesn’t explain why this watermark exists in the first place, but if it’s going away, that’s good news.
