TCL’s launches QM6K, powered by Google TV, with updated QD-Mini LED from $749

At CES 2025, TCL is launching its updated QD-Mini LED tech starting in the QM6K lineup which is available for pre-order starting today.

Mini LED has taken over the conversation in mid-range and high-end TVs in recent years, but quality can vary greatly between brands and models. TCL aimed to change that with its “QD-Mini LED,” a new standard that delivers what customers expect from Mini LED – a large number of LEDs to make up the backlight with tons of dimming zones. Now, more TVs are getting the updated tech.

This latest generation will take advantage of a new “Super High Energy LED Chip” that boosts brightness output by 53% and efficiency by 10%. A new micro lens also allows for more precise light control and, in turn, much deeper blacks. This is further improved with TCL’s Zero-Delay Transient Response, which the company explains leads to “virtually no lag between the input signal and backlight response.”

The first new television with this updated tech will be the TCL QM6K series, which is available for pre-order starting today.

Available from 50-inch to 98-inch sizes, the QM6K runs on top of Google TV and offers a 144Hz refresh rate, Dolby Vision IQ, a new Dolby Vision Filmmaker Mode, improved built-in sound tuned by Onkyo, and a refreshed and slimmer design. The larger screen sizes also feature an antireflective display.

TCL will be launching more updates to its lineup through 2025, but the QM6K series is priced as follows:

  • 50-inch – $749.99
  • 55-inch – $799.99
  • 65-inch – $999.99
  • 75-inch – $1,299.99
  • 85-inch – $1,999.99
  • 98-inch – $3,499.99

Pre-orders are open now through TCL’s website and will come with a free TCL Q75H soundbar.
