Nothing eyes expansion following successful 2024, $1 billion in lifetime sales

Carl Pei’s Nothing is seemingly a big success, as the company has reportedly hit $1 billion in lifetime sales, had a successful 2024, and is eyeing further expansion.

Nothing kicked off in 2021 with the launch of its first product, a pair of affordable but feature-packed earbuds that went on to be well-received by reviewers and consumers alike. A year later, the company followed up with its highly-anticipated Nothing Phone (1), and has since put out more smartphones, earbuds, and launched a sub-brand in the budget-focused “CMF by Nothing.”

Over the course of 2024, the company launched its latest generation of earbuds as well as the Nothing Phone (2a), an affordable device that was well-received, and ending up getting four variants through the year.

And it seems it was a successful year.

Bloomberg reports that Nothing doubled its annual revenue to over $500 million, and also managed to cross $1 billion in lifetime sales. The report goes on to mention that Nothing has sold around 7 million devices to date and that its primary markets include India, Germany, and the UK for smartphones, and the US, UK, Germany, and Japan for earbuds.

The company is now looking at expanding its operations, and is “seeking to raise at least $100 million in funding.” Nothing previously raised the same total back in 2023.

Earlier this week, an email from Carl Pei surfaced teasing the company’s upcoming Nothing Phone (3) flagship, due to be released this year, which is teased to launch a new “AI platform.”
