If you happen to lose or break the S Pen on your Galaxy S25 Ultra, Samsung will still charge you $50 for it despite the removal of some of the costliest features.
For the past several generations, Samsung has built Bluetooth into the Galaxy Note and now Galaxy S Ultra’s S Pen, allowing for some handy remote features. As these features apparently went under-used by owners of these devices, Samsung removed them from the latest Galaxy S25 Ultra.
However, if you need a replacement S Pen for the Galaxy S25 Ultra, you’ll still be paying full price.
Despite the removal of hardware from the latest S Pen, Samsung is still charging a full $49.99 for a replacement through its online store. That’s the same price Samsung charged for the Galaxy S24 Ultra’s S Pen, which still featured Bluetooth and, in turn, had a higher hardware cost for Samsung compared to the new S Pen.
Samsung has yet to actually open up orders for its new S Pen, but the listing is live today with the price and “Black,” “Light Gray,” and “Light Silver” color options.
There were rumors of a new, Bluetooth-enabled S Pen following a misleading Samsung blog post, but the company has confirmed that it’s not happening. Disgruntled users have formed an online petition asking Samsung to restore the functionality which has amassed a little over 6,000 signatures. Samsung said that less than 1% of users actually used Bluetooth features, which would equate to a little over 100,000 users of the Galaxy S24 Ultra based on sales figures.
The Galaxy S25 Ultra is available now.
