The OnePlus Watch 3 is official and supports ECG, one of the features missing from the first generation. However, you won’t be able to use it if you’re located in the United States or Canada.
The OnePlus Watch 3 packs a bunch of health upgrades including new sensors, with one of the added features being support for ECG readings. The ability to take an electrocardiogram on your wrist isn’t new, as many other smartwatches support the feature, but it was missing from past OnePlus smartwatches. ECG is also a part of the new “60-Second Health Check-In” feature on OnePlus Watch 3.
But if you’re in the United States, you won’t have the “ECG Analyzer” feature on OnePlus Watch 3.
In a statement, OnePlus explains that its latest smartwatch did not receive FDA certification for this feature, so it will not be enabled in the US or in Canada, despite the hardware still being present.
As the OnePlus Watch 3 did not receive official certification from the U.S. FDA on its ECG capabilities, the ECG Analyzer feature on the OnePlus Watch 3 will not be available to users in the United States or Canada. However, users will still be able to utilize the 60-Second Health Check-In feature without ECG, and this will be available in Q2 2025.
The “60-Second Health Check-In” feature will still be made available, but without ECG, to US buyers in Q2 of 2025.
The OnePlus Watch 3 is available for pre-order today for $329 and shipping later this month.
