Samsung seemingly won’t rebrand Qi2 for its magnetic Galaxy S26 accessories

While a camera upgrade will be missing, Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy S26 series is seemingly getting a big upgrade in the form of Qi2 support, and a new leak details the company’s plans for magnetic accessories, but no clever name to go with it.

WinFuture reports that Samsung has a collection of first-party Galaxy S26 accessories in the pipeline with magnets in line with Qi2. The accessories include:

  • Samsung Magnetic Carbon Case Black for Galaxy S26 and S26 Plus
  • Samsung Clear Case Transparent for Galaxy S26, S26 Plus & S26 Ultra
  • Samsung Magnetic Clear Case Transparent for Galaxy S26, S26 Plus & S26 Ultra
  • Samsung Magnetic Rugged Clear Case Black for Galaxy S26, S26 Plus & S26 Ultra
  • Samsung Magnetic Silicone Case for Galaxy S26, S26 Plus & S26 Ultra (Black or Grey)
  • Samsung Dual Magnetic Ring Holder

As previously surfaced, Samsung is also building a first-party magnetic Qi2 battery bank.

There are a couple of notable things here, starting with the wider array of accessories. Samsung offered some first-party magnetic cases for the Galaxy S25, Fold 7, and Flip 7 in line with “Qi2 Ready,” but the lineup this year looks much wider.

The other interesting thing is that there seems to be no branding attached to these magnetic accessories. Where Apple has “MagSafe” and Google has “Pixelsnap,” Samsung is just referring to these cases as “magnetic.” It’s a bit of a surprise there’s no additional branding coming from Samsung, but perhaps that’s for the best? Half a dozen competing names for what is inherently the same tech in Qi2 could quickly get out of hand. But technically there’s nothing stopping that from changing, so we’ll have to wait and see.
