Qi2 is an updated version of the ubiquitous wireless charging standard. What sets it apart from the original is a ring of magnets used to align the coils in the charger and the device.
Qi2 is available natively in Google’s Pixel 10 series and available in other devices via “Qi2 Ready,” which uses cases and other accessories.
Ever since the Pixel 10 was released last year, Qi2 magnets have been a love-hate relationship – I love using them, but I hate that, somehow, the Pixel 10 is the only Android phone that has them. It’s crazy to me that no other Android brand has taken this feature seriously, and that we still have no word of that changing.
