Motorola doesn’t appear to be on track to release any new flagship foldable phones just yet, which makes the most recent World Cup-themed Razr teaser all the more cryptic.
The new year is in, and that means four years have passed since the last World Cup was held. Whether or not Argentina reigns in a victory over every other national team again is to be seen, though it’ll be the first time the national football stage sets up in the US for quite some time, in part.
It appears Motorola is getting in the World Cup spirit, too. A new teaser video shows off what looks like the Motorola Razr 2025, though it’s incredibly difficult to make out any specifics while the phone is shrouded in darkness. What is visible is a slight glimmer of the FIFA World Cup 2026 logo on the back of the phone.

One could argue that the logo appears on the external display as wallpaper, though no obvious camera lenses are protruding from the same side. As far as we can tell, no other significant details stand out, and this looks like a reskin in honor of the upcoming tournament.
Motorola has set January 6 as the key date for this supposed World Cup edition Razr. Whether that means the device will go on sale immediately or be announced for pre-order is anyone’s guess. Still, it’s refreshing to see a little variation come to a foldable outside of Samsung’s region-locked Galaxy Z Fold editions.
