Google TV is finally getting support for Xbox Game Pass, at least on TCL TVs.
Alongside the announcement of its new X11L flagship TV, TCL has confirmed that support for Xbox Game Pass cloud streaming is coming to Google TV for the first time. Game Pass has been available on Samsung TVs for a while now and also recently arrived on Fire TV and LG TVs as well, but Google TV (and Android TV) have not been compatible for a while. There was evidence of limited support a few years ago, but nothing ever came of it.
TCL says that Xbox Game Pass is coming to the X11L through a later OTA update, but there’s no mention that the app is exclusive to TCL devices. TCL explicitly mentions that Game Pass would be accessible through its own app and that it would support cloud gaming.
It’s hard to say anything for certain with very few details to look at, but it seems likely enough that Xbox Game Pass is on a route that ends with availability on Google TV devices. We’ve reached out to Xbox and Google for more information and will update this article when we hear back.
