The Galaxy S26 Ultra is set to start shipping next week, but one user reportedly received their model a little early.
This happens every year, but it’s an interesting mistake that turns into a lottery, of sorts. One Reddit user claims they received the Galaxy S26 Ultra before anyone else who purchased one from Samsung. The model in question is an Ultra in Samsung’s Cobalt Violet colorway. It’s a little hard to tell in that lighting, almost closer to the Black variant.
The photos posted online don’t showcase anything new. Hands-on content is already available, and 9to5Google has already dived into the finer details.
Just about every year, one of Samsung’s new phones falls through the cracks a few days before the established release date. In this case, March 6 is when most users who pre-ordered the Galaxy S26 Ultra are supposed to get their devices. An entire week early isn’t unheard of – it just means the shipping company or Samsung made a mistake along the way.
It’s possible that more users get their own early shipment, but it isn’t going to happen for the large majority of users. It just means that this user gets just over 7 years of Android and security support.
The Galaxy S26 Ultra is still in its pre-order phase, with some of Samsung’s trade-in deals hitting high marks. These trade-in values dip heavily after the pre-order window is over, so it might be good to switch your older Galaxy device for the latest one before it gets even more expensive.
