Samsung launches Galaxy A57 and A37 in Europe

After numerous leaks, Samsung has officially refreshed its mid-range lineup with the announcement of the Galaxy A57 5G and A37 5G devices in Europe – with a US expansion expected later this year.

As Samsung’s premier mid-range smartphone, the Galaxy A57 5G has an impressive spec sheet and some important adjustments to the existing formula. The Galaxy A57 5G is now thinner at 6.9mm and features a more powerful cooling system with a 13% larger vapor chamber. It uses a 6.7-inch Super AMOLED+ display with a 120Hz refresh rate and “Vision Booster” for better outdoor legibility.

Under the hood, the A57 is powered by an upgraded Exynos processor (likely the Exynos 1680) and offers between 8GB and 12GB of RAM. Notably, Samsung has bumped the water resistance durability rating to IP68, offering better protection against water submersion than previous generations, which were rated at IP67. It ships with Android 16 and One UI 8.5 out of the box, supported by a class-leading six years of OS and security updates. The camera setup remains the most capable of the A-series, led by a 50MP main sensor with OIS, a 12MP ultrawide, a 5MP macro, and a 12MP selfie shooter.

Slightly less impressive but impressive nonetheless, the Galaxy A37 5G shares the same 6.7-inch 120Hz Super AMOLED panel and 5,000 mAh battery but swaps the A57’s 12MP ultrawide lens for an 8MP ultrawide lens. While Samsung hasn’t named the specific silicon, the A37 is expected to run an unspecified Exynos chipset paired with 6GB or 8GB of RAM. Both phones now support Super Fast Charging 2.0, reaching a 60% charge in roughly 30 minutes

On the software side, both models receive the new “Awesome Intelligence” suite. This includes Circle to Search with Google (now featuring multi-object recognition), Voice Transcription in the Voice Recorder app, and AI Select, which allows users to easily extract text or images from the Edge Panel. Security is also bolstered by Knox Vault and a new Private Album feature for locking away sensitive media.

Samsung is offering distinct color palettes for each model this year. The Galaxy A57 5G will be available in Awesome Navy, Awesome Grey, Awesome Icyblue, and Awesome Lilac. Meanwhile, the Galaxy A37 5G comes in Awesome Lavender, Awesome Charcoal, Awesome Greygreen, and Awesome White.

The new Galaxy A-series is set to go on sale on April 10th through Samsung.com and other major retailers. The Galaxy A57 5G starts at £529 for the 256GB/8GB model, with a higher-tier 512GB/12GB version available for £699, while the Galaxy A37 5G enters the lineup at £399 for the 128GB/6GB configuration.

While no details were available at the time of this launch, the Galaxy A5X-series has historically arrived in the US roughly 2 to 4 weeks after the European launch. Since the UK release is set for April 10, 2026, it is highly likely that a US release will follow in late April or early May 2026.
