Google is working on two location-based features for the Pixel At a Glance widget with “Passes nearby” and “Restaurant insights.”
About APK Insight: In this “APK Insight” post, we’ve decompiled the latest version of an application that Google uploaded to the Play Store. When we decompile these files (called APKs, in the case of Android apps), we’re able to see various lines of code within that hint at possible future features. Keep in mind that Google may or may not ever ship these features, and our interpretation of what they are may be imperfect. We’ll try to enable those that are closer to being finished, however, to show you how they’ll look in case that they do ship. With that in mind, read on.
The latest versions of Android System Intelligence (B.23) and Settings Services (1.1.0.885985347) today reveal work on two upcoming At a Glance features.
The first feature will show “Restaurant insights” like “Suggested menu items and insights based on your location.” Google is presumably tapping into its corpus of Google Maps reviews for this capability. It’s unclear what the UI will be after tapping At a Glance.
Another upcoming location feature is “Passes nearby” where you can “Quickly access passes from your Google Wallet based on your location.”
This very much sounds like what Google very briefly teased with the launch of Android 12. During the Material You demo reel, we saw At a Glance recognizing you’re at a supermarket and offering the necessary membership pass.

Google Wallet passes already support sending notifications when you’re near a location, but surfacing with At a Glance on Pixel devices will be more prominent.
