While the Oppo Find X9 Ultra is still a little ways away from launch, the company has today shown off the design in full and, having used it myself, I can tell you that I’m thrilled to see this sort of hardware hitting the global market.
Oppo today confirmed that the Find X9 Ultra will be launching in “Tundra Umber” and “Canyon Orange” colors, and the former has a design that really feels like a classic camera. Oppo plays into that in one of its teasers.
I’ve had the pleasure of checking out this verison of the Find X9 Ultra as of late, and the hardware is truly stunning.
This is a big smartphone, both in terms of its physical size and weight, as well as the sheer size of its rear camera module. That camera module is packing some serious hardware too, as Oppo previously confirmed a pair of 200MP sensors and some impressive telephoto lenses too.
Throw in the look and feel of a premium, old school camera and the term “camera phone” takes on true meaning. The faux leather especially stands out, and the orange accents on the camera button and around the camera ring are just icing on the cake.
I’m repeatedly blown away by this design, and I’m so glad Oppo finally chose to bring this device to the global market.

Of course, “global” here is going to need a proper definition before we can get properly excited. The Find N5 and Find N6 have shown that Oppo’s version of a “global” launch doesn’t have to mean it’s actually available in large parts of the world, though it does sound like Europe is on the list this time around.
A launch in the United States isn’t remotely on the table.
For now, quite literally all I can show you about the Find X9 Ultra is the hardware. But what I’ll add for now is that I’m very excited to say more… Stay tuned!
Find X9 Ultra launches on April 22.
