Nothing Ear (3a) reportedly in the pipeline with new colors and a lower price tag

Nothing Ear (3) launched earlier this year as a solid pair of wireless earbuds, but it’s also been hard to beat the budget-focused Nothing Ear (a) from 2024. But, apparently, Nothing is giving it a shot with the first Nothing Ear (3a) details now leaking.

Nothing launched Ear (a) back in 2024, making an immediate splash as an excellent pair of budget-focused earbuds. In our review we said:

At $99, the Nothing Ear (a) are effectively 99% of the Nothing Ear for 30% off. You get very similar audio quality, similar battery life, and essentially the same hardware design. One of the only notable differences is a welcome splash of color in the unique yellow option…

Dealabs reports that Nothing Ear (3a) are in the works, though a release date is currently unknown. Without any other Nothing launches in view, it feels likely this will be a solo release, and as such could happen at effectively any time. It’s also unknown at this time what new features or changes these earbuds will bring to the table.

What is known is the price, and the color selection.

This report brings out that Nothing Ear (3a) will feature four colors – which, black, yellow, and a newcomer in pink. That matches what’s been available for Nothing Headphone (a), a budget-focused over-ear set that Nothing launched earlier this year.

Then, there’s the price. In France, the earbuds will apparently sell for €99, which means they’ll very likely be $99 in the US as well. That’s $80 less than Nothing Ear (3), and only a bit higher than Nothing Ear (a) is still sold for today.
