I get to try out a lot of crazy smart home gear and, usually, my favorites are the ones that blend into my home without standing out. Dreame’s futuristic-looking bladeless fan and air purifier do not fit that description and, yet, I’ve been pretty impressed by both. With Dreame’s heavily discounted Prime Day deals going right now, these should both have your attention.
Dreame MF10 Bladeless Fan
Starting with the fan, this thing is just wild guys.
The design here doesn’t really look like anything else you’d likely have in your home, with a central pillar that extends up to a pair of rotating modules. “Fan” is not what comes to mind when looking at it, but it’s also cool in the most absurd kind of way when it’s in action.
Each half of the fan can pose itself in a different direction, enabling airflow throughout the entire room. When set to full oscillation, you’ll end up watching the entire base spin back and forth up to 180 degrees, as well as the two blades move back and forth up to 90 degrees. In action, it looks crazy, but it’s also very effective. Turning this on, I could feel a gentle breeze through the whole room that a standard fan simply can’t match.

This is all configurable through the Dreame app, where you can adjust the levels and airflow settings, while also seeing temperature logs and set a timer too. There is an included remote as well, but the learning curve on the remote is way higher than the app.
What might be my favorite feature here is the add-on that this fan effectively doubles as an air purifier, as you can install a filter to clean the air before the fan spits it back out the front.
I really only have two downsides here. For one, there’s no Google Home integration. Dreame supports Home for many of its products, but the MF10 is left off of the list for no obvious reasons. Boo. Second, the noise. This is a very loud fan, at least when it’s at higher settings. Levels 1-3 are acceptable, but they don’t put out enough air to really do much on a hot day. It’s a great fan for a louder space where music or a TV can drown it out, but this one won’t be staying in my bedroom where I hoped to use it.
Dreame AP10 Pet Air Purifier
Of the two products I’ve tried from Dreame, the AP10 is the one that really feels worthwhile.
This air purifier really impressed me not neccessarily just from its performance, but from its thoughtful design. Like the fan, it’s not a subtle look. This will stand out wherever you put it, if only in part because it’s physically huge. Taking it out of the box, the sheer size caught me off guard. But next to other furtniture, it tucks away nicely enough.
The Dreame AP10 works in the same app as the fan, but is more of a “set it and forget it” experience. Out of the box you’ll unlatch the top portion to unwrap the filter and install the fabric cover that’s meant to capture pet hair and dust. This not only makes it easy to clean out those bigger debris, but also extends the life of the actual filter. Dreame says the filter can last up to over 5 years – that’s a huge improvement over the several-month lifespan of the filters in my other air purifiers at home.
On its lower levels, 1-2, the Dreame AP10 is a quiet hum at best, yet it’s still moving a ton of air. There’s a constant breeze that’s just enough to pick up whatever’s floating around. And, since the intake is at the bottom, it’s rather good at collecting dog hairs. That was the main thing I was looking forward to seeing in action, and it works very well. Over just a few days, it was already sucking up hairs and collecting them inside, even on those low levels.

Again, this one lacks Google Home support which is a shame, but the bigger downside I found was the on-by-default voice controls. I think that’s unncessary for one, but the alert when turning on the machine where it readily shouts “to wake me up, say ‘Dreame, Dreame'” is disconcerting and creepy for an appliance that really has no sense in having this feature. App controls are useful, but I don’t want voice controls here. You can turn it off via the Dreame app.
The Air Purifier is worth buying, and 50% off right now
As mentioned, the Air Purifier is the one of these two I find the most worthwhile. If the fan were quieter, I’d be more on board, but it’s just too loud for many use cases.
Both, though, are heavily discounted right now.
Dreame’s Prime Day sales are in full swing, with the AP10 down to $199.99 in a 50% off sale, and the MF10 at the same price.
