Following the last update two weeks ago, Google is rolling out a series of new features for Gemini Spark.
Google is expanding what the personal agent can do in Google Workspace apps, such as opening and editing Google Docs. Additionally, Spark can now:
- Edit private spreadsheets and presentations.
- Read comments on spreadsheets and presentations.
- Edit shared documents, spreadsheets, and presentations.
- Add images to documents and presentations.
- Edit and refine documents, including shared ones, using the Canvas panel.
Spark is now over 50% faster, with Google emphasizing how “long-running tasks won’t take as long.” Similarly, smarter sourcing allows Spark to retrieve and review sources in parallel for faster processing when dealing with complex tasks.
Enhanced notifications provide “more details whenever input is needed.” Google will also stop “sending mobile notifications for a task if you’re actively present in that task’s thread in the Gemini web app.”
Finally, Gemini Spark is now rolling out to Google AI Ultra subscribers “wherever Gemini Apps are supported, except in the European Economic Area, Nigeria, Switzerland, and the United Kingdom.”
Josh Woodward also teased that AI Pro members should “stay tuned for an access update soon.”
