It sure looks like Pixel Buds Pro 3 aren’t happening anytime soon

Given that there was a two-year gap between the Pixel Buds Pro and Pro 2, we’re due for “Pixel Buds Pro 3.” However, considering the latest leaks this week, that doesn’t seem likely with the upcoming Pixel 11 launch.

Evan Blass today shared a close look at dark green Google earbuds as part of a Pixel 11 Pro Fold leak. Design-wise, they are identical to Pixel Buds Pro 2 save for the new dome color.

The earlier Play Points and Amazon listing (below) leaks provided a zoomed-out case view that left open a slim possibility that the buds themselves would be different. However, today’s image closes the window on that.

Pixel Buds Pro launched in July 2022. Google introduced two new colors a year later with the Pixel 8. At Made by Google 2024, we got Pixel Buds Pro 2, with a new color introduced in 2025 to match the Pixel 10.

Instead of a third-generation model, we’re just getting another color drop. Hopefully, the new Pixel Buds Pro 2 color will be accompanied by another Feature Drop. Last year, we got Adaptive Audio and head shake gestures.

This leaves Pixel Buds 2a as Google’s latest headphones. Hopefully, Pixel Buds Pro 3 are coming next year.

Blass also shared another look at the Pixel Watch 5 with no observable design changes.
