New reports coming from industry sources close to Samsung suggest the smartphone maker will equip not just the Galaxy S27 Ultra with its Privacy Display panels, but the Galaxy S27 Pro, as well.
According to recent reports from ET News, industry sources claim Samsung plans to include a Privacy Display panel on the Galaxy S27 Pro and the Galaxy S27 Ultra. The panel is known internally as Samsung’s Flex Magic Panel, and the new leaked information ties it to the top two flagships Samsung wants to release in 2027.
The Privacy Display was earlier in the year on the Galaxy S26 Ultra. In lieu of offering an anti-glare Gorilla Glass panel like the year before, Samsung opted for a specialized OLED panel that obscured either isolated portions or the entire screen from certain angles. It’s a native form of privacy screen protectors, built into the phone, and with more granular controls over sensitive notifications and more.
On the Galaxy S26 Ultra, One UI allows users to hide notifications from prying eyes, as well as the entire screen or other parts that might contain sensitive information. It’s suggested that the Galaxy S27 Pro’s display will allow users to do the same. The COE elements in the display can be thought of as a sort of polarization, where parts of the screen are blocked from anything other than a head-on view.
Previous leaks suggest Samsung plans on padding out its smartphone range with four entries:
- Galaxy S27
- Galaxy S27+
- Galaxy S27 Pro
- Galaxy S27 Ultra
With that, the Galaxy S27 line will be overhauled with a new display and overall design that many like to compare to the recently adopted design language of recent iPhone versions. The Galaxy S27 Pro and Ultra variants will have a much more robust camera bar/island, with the Pro being a much more obvious little brother to the Ultra than the S+ ever was. At least, in looks.
Further, it looks like the Galaxy S27 Pro will take on the Ultra’s price point, and the new premium flagship Galaxy S27 Ultra will get its own price hike.
Samsung is expected to announce the four new Galaxy S27 devices early next year.
