Honor’s Galaxy Z Fold 8 and iPhone Duo rival is reportedly launching in January

Honor’s first wide-format foldable is apparently coming in January, leaks suggest, to take on the Galaxy Z Fold 8 and iPhone Duo.

“They got the aspect ratio” was Apple’s take on the trend of wide-format Android foldables, but it’s certainly here to stay following the smash-hit success of Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold 8. Xiaomi’s 18 Fold, for instance, has already picked up the new form factor.

Honor might be next in line.

Leaker Digital Chat Station says that Honor’s wide foldable has a 5.5-inch outer display and 7.6-inch inner display, a 7,000+ mAh battery, and a 200MP main camera alongside a periscope zoom lens. That last bit is important – both the Galaxy Z Fold 8 and iPhone Duo lack a telephoto sensor (despite what Apple’s marketing wants you to think), so Honor is matching Xiaomi in this regard. Another leaker, Smart Pikachu, says to expect a January release date. It’s unclear if that’s just for China or for global markets as well.

Honor’s existing Magic V6 was one of the better foldable releases of 2026, but with the entire market looking closer at the wide-format design, it’ll be rather exciting to see what Honor and other brands bring to the table.
