Pixel 11 series still not on Android 17 QPR1 with October update

With yesterday’s October 2026 update, the Pixel 11 series is not yet running Android 17 QPR1.

The Pixel 11, 11 Pro, 11 Pro XL, and 11 Pro Fold launched in August with the base Android 17 release. In September, the Pixel 11 series received two early updates that presumably addressed issues that emerged since launch.

Later in the month, Google rolled out QPR1 to all other devices. Visual changes in the quarterly release include system blur for the volume slider and power menu, while there’s an updated system media player that gets narrower when other apps are available. The Mobile Data Quick Settings Tile gets a time-saving “Don’t ask me again” toggle, while there’s now a Keyboard QS Tile.

Meanwhile, the Pixel 11 series did not get the initial Android 17 QPR2 Beta 6 release and had to wait a few days for Beta 6.1, which introduced HiLight support for message notifications. It did get the 17 QPR3 Beta without issue a few days later.

This week’s October release does contain fixes for the Pixel 11:

  • Fix for issue causing the virtual keyboard to occasionally not appear when interacting with search input fields*[1]
  • Fix for issue occasionally causing captured photos or recorded videos to save in the incorrect orientation*[3]

It’s unlikely that we’ll get a second October release, with all eyes on November. With QPR2 just a month away at that point, Google might wait for December to align all the devices.
