Xiaomi 18 Pro gears up for global debut with rumored battery cuts and €1,449 starting price

Ouch. That’s the reaction many will probably have around pricing for the Xiaomi 18 Pro series when it lands globally, with prices starting at €1,449 according to a new leak.

YTechB reports that the Xiaomi 18 Pro series is headed to Europe with major price hikes in tow. Where last year’s Xiaomi 17 had a starting price of €999 with the Ultra at €1,499, the Xiaomi 18 Pro is starting the lineup at €1,449 this year. That’s a huge price jump seeing as it’s just €50 short of last year’s Ultra device.

Pricing is rumored to land as follows:

  • Xiaomi 18 Pro (256GB): €1,449
  • Xiaomi 18 Pro Max (512GB): €1,849

The report goes on to cite the EU’s EPREL labels to confirm that global variants of the Xiaomi 18 Pro series will be cut down from the Chinese models. Xiaomi 18 Pro has a 7,000 mAh battery in China, but will only have a 6,000 mAh battery in Europe. Similarly, the Pro Max has an 8,500 mAh battery in China, but will be cut to 7,050 mAh in Europe. The base Pro is limited to 90W charging in the EU for reasons unclear.

The Xiaomi 18 Pro series is among the first to adopt Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 chip and launched in China last month. The timeline for a global release remains unclear at this point, but the MWC tech conference in Barcelona each Spring is often when Xiaomi kicks off availability. For 2026, Xiaomi 17 launched on February 28, with MWC 2027 start to start on March 1.
