Following the revelation that Android 6.0 Marshmallow is currently running on just 0.3 percent of devices, the update appears to have started rolling out to at least one more device this evening. According to a handful of postings on the XDA Developer forums, the Google Play Edition HTC One M8 has started receiving Android 6.0.
Last week, HTC VP Mo Versi took to Twitter to announce that the Marshmallow update for Google Play Edition One M8 users had been slightly delayed. The executive has yet to update users on the situation, though. Nevertheless, it looks like the update is at least beginning to rollout.

One XDA user has shared the download of Marshmallow for the M8 GPE directly from Google’s own servers. The update comes in at 472MB. It, of course, includes all of the notable Marshmallow features users have come to expect. Those include interface tweaks to the app drawer, a new text selection tool, Google Now improvements, refreshed app permission settings, a new Doze functionality to improve battery life, and much more.
If you’re using a Google Play Edition HTC One M8, you can head into the Settings app on your device to start checking for the OTA update. If you aren’t seeing it yet, you can download the OTA file from Google here and manually install it.
