If you’ve got a pair of Nothing earbuds that you use with something that’s not a smartphone, you might find a new web app that can control the earbuds useful.
The “Ear (web)” app is an unofficial app built by “RapidZapper” that allows you to control the various settings of Nothing and CMF earbuds through your PC, Mac, Chromebook, or any other device with a compatible browser.
The app works through the Web Serial API that Google supports in Chrome, and is also supported in other Chromium-based browsers such as Microsoft Edge, Arc, and Brave. The app, available at “earweb.bttl.xyz,” requests permission to see Bluetooth devices connected to your machine and can then link up with Nothing earbuds to control ANC, the equalizer, and more.
Supported earbuds include Nothing Ear (1), Ear (2), Ear (Stick), Ear, Ear (a), CMF Buds Pro, CMF Buds Pro 2, and CMF Buds. The new Nothing Ear (open) and some others, like the CMF Neckband, are not yet supported.
Since this app isn’t official, you should obviously be a little wary, but this comes from the same developers behind the “Ear (PC)” app that debuted in March and has received much praise from Nothing’s community.
