After launching in India, the Android 15-based OxygenOS 15 Open Beta is now available in Europe and global regions.
Update: Clarification that NA units are not eligible at this time.
Initially spotted by the OxygenOS cataloguers behind the Oxygen Updater app, this preview build has yet to be officially confirmed, but lots of reports of the OTA appearing on OnePlus 12 devices are littering the official support forums.
This flavor of Android 15 comes with a seriously long changelog, with big changes to how animations look and feel, as per the original deep dive when the update was announced just a few weeks ago. The OxygenOS Open Beta update for Global and European handsets weighs in at a hefty 6.22GB, which is pretty par for the course given the sizeable changes. These include a better Quick Settings panel, improvements to the “Charging limit” function, Live Alerts, AOD customization controls, plus much more.
It’s not clear if the OTA includes the vast array of AI functions that were touted ahead of launch. These functions were disabled on the Indian update. These do not appear in the extensive changelog for the 15.0.0.204 update. The October 2024 security patch is included in the CPH2581_15.0.0.204 OTA file for added security.
You can check if your OnePlus 12 is eligible for the update by heading to Settings > System updates > Beta program. Alternatively, the Oxygen Updater application allows you to flash the ZIP file locally and try out the OxygenOS 15 Open Beta on your OnePlus 12 handset. There is no mention of the OnePlus 12R, but we will update this coverage should that be confirmed.
