Galaxy Note 20 series now getting one of its final updates

Samsung is rolling out what will be one of the final updates for its Galaxy Note 20 series in the final footnotes of the Galaxy Note’s legacy.

Rolling out over the past week, Galaxy Note 20 and Note 20 Ultra are now getting the April 2025 security patch (h/t SammyGuru). The Note 20 series has been on a quarterly update schedule for some time now, and this is the first update of 2025 for these devices.

This is also one of the last updates we’ll see for the Galaxy Note 20 series.

Having been released in August 2020, Samsung was technically only supposed to provide updates to the Note 20 series for four years. Major OS updates, promised for three years, ended on time with a final Android 13 update in December 2022. But Samsung has continued to extend these security updates for a fair bit longer. But the clock is ticking. The Galaxy S20 series, released earlier that same year, was dropped from Samsung’s support last month.
