Following an initial preview at CES 2026 earlier this year, the Clicks Communicator is getting an update regarding its software support, chipset, and what physical keyboard layouts will be supported.
As a quick recap of what the Clicks Communicator brings to the table, this is yet-another try at the BlackBerry form factor, with a smaller display and complete physical keyboard. The Android-powered device is being positioned as a secondary smartphone focused on messaging.
This week, we’re getting a few key details confirmed.
That starts with the key feature, the keys.
Clicks says that the Communicator will be sold in a standard QWERTY layout, of course, but also French (AZERTY), German (QWERTZ), Korean, and Arabic variants to be sold across the globe.

Under the hood, meanwhile, Clicks Communicator will officially be powered by MediaTek Dimensity 8300. That comes as very little surprise, but it’s certainly a chip that makes sense. Clicks itself says that the chip will deliver a “fast, responsive experience, with performance to spare.”
As for the software side of things, the Communicator is holding firm to its five years of security updates, but it turns out that major OS updates won’t last quite as long. Clicks is committing to updates through Android 20, so through around 2029. Not bad at all, especially for a more niche smartphone.
The early access period has been extended through March 15, with customers able to place a reservation to lock in a $399 “early bird” price.
More on Android:
- The Clicks Communicator might not be for everyone, but it’s definitely for me
- Clicks is making a magnetic keyboard that slides out from Pixel 10 and any other phone
- The RAM shortage is causing a smartphone ‘crisis like no other,’ market could shrink 13%
