The adorable Androids of MWC 2026 are ready for your XR glasses demo [Gallery]

As per usual, Google is at MWC 2026 in Barcelona this week with its Android Avenue setup, including a host of adorable little Android figures all over the place, building an Android sign, as well as preparing for your chance to take Google’s Android XR glasses for a spin.

In what has become my favorite tradition of Mobile World Congress, Google has some custom Android figures found throughout its Android Avenue booth, including one huge display where the figures are building out an Android sign.

The setup includes a bunch of figures in various construction jobs such as painting, building, climbing scaffolding, and more.

The attention to detail here always remains incredible, with Google even putting its window washers on a motorized platform this time around.

There were also figures in other demo booths, such as ones for Gemini video generation and Android XR.

The Android XR section is the highlight of Google’s presence this year, with the company offering live demos of not only Galaxy XR, but its prototype XR glasses too. Google already showed these off at I/O, but MWC has a bit wider attendance, so this is easily the biggest demo we’ve seen for the glasses to date.

This was my first time using Google’s Android XR monocular AI glasses, and I’m pretty impressed!

The experience feels simple and intuitive, and the display looks great. The monocular nature makes it a little weird since your brain is compensating for seeing it in one eye and not the other, but it’s far and away better than any other smart glasses I’ve tried. The software is slick too, with some smooth animations and deep integration with Google services and Gemini. The hardware is solid too. While the glasses were a bit snug on my face, the touchpad interactions work super well, and the speakers sound great despite not even being final.

I was already excited, but at this point, consider me first in line to buy a pair of these.

Google’s MWC 2026 setup can be found in between Hall 2 and 3 at the Fira center, if you happen to be in Barcelona at the conference. There will inevitably be a huge line to try out the AI glasses demo, so don’t wait!

Oh, and here’s the collection of Android pins up for grabs throughout the show this year.
