Samsung highlights $90 ‘Wireless Charger Trio’ that sounds like it needs Qi2 magnets

Half a decade after its initial launch, Samsung is re-releasing its “Wireless Charger Trio,” ironically a product that would really benefit from Qi2 magnets.

Samsung.com has refreshed the listing for the “Wireless Charger Trio,” a $90 3-in-1 wireless charger that features two Qi charging pads and one designed for Galaxy Watch. The two pads can be used for multiple Galaxy phones, or a phone and Galaxy Buds, and works universally with other Qi-compatible products.

This charger first debuted around 2020, with Samsung still listing compatibility with the Galaxy S20 and Note 20 series instead of any of its newer models. It’s unclear why Samsung has re-released the charger, but it’s considered as a new release according to the company’s website. There haven’t been any hardware updates as far as we can tell – it’s effectively just being highlighted again.

It should work just fine with modern wireless charging products, but it’s worth noting that the age plays a huge role here – this is a slow wireless charger by modern standards, maxing out at 15W on Samsung phones, and dropping to 7.5W on other devices.

On top of that, it sounds like this is the kind of product that would really benefit from modern Qi2 and its associated magnetic alignment.

The “Wireless Charger Trio” has a mere 2.6-star review average on Samsung’s website, and a lot of user reviews call out difficulties in aligning their phones with the charger for proper charging. Others mention that, with the Galaxy S26 Ultra, Samsung’s camera bump prevents the phone from sitting flush on the charger’s surface. Over the years, some have loved this charger, but it’s certainly a hard sell in 2026 when there are other options on the market. The main appeal here is the Galaxy Watch charger, but some brands have even figured that part out.

Of course, Samsung stubbornly still refuses to adopt Qi2 magnets inside of its phones, so the wireless charging ecosystem around the latest Galaxy devices is pretty messy.
