Samsung’s updated Weather app is ready to tell you how horrible the pollen is outside

As Spring has sprung, The Pollening has also arrived and, just in time, Samsung has made some welcome updates to its Weather app.

The Samsung Weather app sees UI updates fairly regularly, and another new tweak is arriving in the v1.7.30.8.

As the folks at Android Authority first pointed out, the new update to Samsung Weather brings an improvement for those suffering through pollen allergies. Specifically, the app has ditched its generic leaf icons for pollen and now shows icons for tree, grass, and ragweed pollen measurements that are easy to identify at a glance. That said, it also removes the colored scale for pollen intensity, replacing that with just a word. So, perhaps a lateral move in some ways.

The app sees a few other icon changes to moon phases and radar, with the latter now showing some more shortcuts that open to weather.com‘s forecasting tools.

These changes are live in Samsung Weather Widget – that’s the full name of the app – v1.7.30.8, though you might not have that update available in the Galaxy Store right away. The update seems to be only for One UI 8.5.

Pollen features remain available in Samsung Weather even if you’re not on One UI 8.5, though, in the latest Samsung Weather updates on One UI 8.0.
