Honor may equip one of its upcoming devices with an 11,000mAh battery, according to recent reports. That would mean a capacity twice as large as anything Samsung has put in a phone sold to consumers.
The Galaxy S Ultra models have historically carried Samsung’s largest batteries, totaling 5,500mAh in the S26 Ultra. That positions the phone as a good all-day device, but it can still struggle under repeatedly heavy tasks.
Honor, on the other hand, has reportedly been testing a 10,690mAh battery for an upcoming device (via GSMArena). The information comes courtesy of a known leaker, Digital Chat Station. The leak notes the phone’s rated capacity, which means its final advertised size may differ.
If Honor’s next device carries an 11,000mAh battery, the phone would be twice as powerful as Samsung’s Galaxy S26 Ultra. That may be compounded by a silicon-carbon makeup, something Samsung has refused to play with in its flagship phones.
Silicon-carbon is a newer material choice that boasts more efficient energy transfer. The result is a longer-lasting battery, even compared to similarly sized units. In many of its recent phones, even 6,660mAh units like the one inside the Magic V6 net users daily use without the need to charge before late nights.
What makes that difficult for OEMs like Samsung and Google is the stringent regulations in the US and other global markets. Chinese manufacturers have not been shy about pushing battery sizes in recent years.
The exact device Honor plans to include an 11,000mAh battery in is unclear, as is the full scope of the reported battery itself. If and when that device is released, don’t expect it to be available in highly-regulated regions like the US and EU.
