Meta raising prices on Quest headsets, even refurbished ones, next week

Meta has just announced that, like seemingly every other tech product under the sun, Meta Quest 3 series headsets are seeing price hikes across all models.

Effective as of April 19, Meta Quest headsets will see a price hike of up to $100. The adjustments, Meta says, are due to the “global surge in the price of critical components – specifically memory chips.” In other words, the cost of RAM is rising, and pushing up the price of the headset.

Retail prices on both new Quest 3 and Quest 3S headsets will be going up while, interestingly, refurbished models are also impacted.

Here are the altered prices:

Current Price (4/16)New Price (4/19)Difference
Meta Quest 3 (512GB)$499$599+$100
Meta Quest 3S (128GB)$299$349+$50
Meta Quest 3S (256GB)$399$449+$50

Meta’s post details international price changes.

As far as refurbished devices go, Meta Quest 3 (512GB) currently sells for $449 refurbished, while Meta Quest 3S starts at $269 refurbished. There’s no word on how those prices will go up, but it stands to reason we’ll see the same price hikes (so $549 and $319, respectively, are possible).

If you’ve been wanting a Quest, now’s the time, as the new prices don’t kick in for a few more days.
