To the surprise of absolutely no one, it appears that Samsung is working on and set to release a SmartTag 3 Bluetooth tracker in the coming months.
While Android has steadily been building out the Find Hub network with the help of third-party OEMs making Bluetooth trackers of various sizes, shapes, and designs, Samsung is undoubtedly the king of tracking options on this side of the fence.
We’ve seen numerous brands enter the space over the past couple of years, but the SmartThings network, bolstered by the volume of Galaxy devices out in the wild, means that while lacking UWB connectivity, SmartTag 2 trackers are quietly the best option for both accuracy and consistency – provided you have a Samsung Galaxy smartphone.

Annoyingly, no SmartTag hardware works outside of Samsung’s own network. In our own testing, we even found they outperformed the previous generation Apple AirTag with almost live tracking of luggage.
So with all of that goodwill and impressive experience, a new report from Roland Quandt claims that Samsung is prepping the SmartTag 3 for launch alongside another rumored device – the Galaxy S26 FE. Given that the previous generation launched way back in 2023, this comes as absolutely no shock and is likely to bring more improvements to the Galaxy trackers.
No doubt UWB connectivity will be a priority, but sadly, Quandt didn’t share any further details beyond this tidbit. Whether anything is noted during the upcoming Galaxy Unpacked keynote remains to be seen, but this is one we’ll keep a close eye on over the coming months.
