Nothing rumored to launch its own smartwatch for ‘under $300’ – I hope it has Wear OS

Nothing might finally puts its name on a smartwatch, and it sounds like the perfect entry to also make the jump over to Wear OS.

While it sounds like there’s some turbulence behind the scenes at Nothing, the company is chugging along with new products. Next on the list, it seems, is a Nothing smartwatch.

Leaker Yogesh Brar claims that Nothing is gearing up to launch its first self-branded smartwatch in September, a product that would cost “under” $300 USD and be released in “limited markets” with a design that ties into Nothing’s usual aesthetic.

Of course, this wouldn’t be the first smartwatch from Nothing as a brand. The company’s CMF sub-brand has already launched two smartwatches focused on budget customers, but there’s never been a smartwatch directly from Nothing itself – and those CMF watches were rough.

The “under $300” detail also seems telling. The CMF watches have been well under $100 and, as such, run a lightweight RTOS. With something more expensive on the table, it stands to reason that this could be more powerful, perhaps even running Google’s Wear OS. If we assume it’s sold in the ballpark of $250-300, that’d put it well below the Pixel Watch and Galaxy Watch lineups, but it’s not like we haven’t seen more affordable Wear OS watches before. I, for one, hope this is what Nothing is planning to do.
