Samsung confirms Galaxy Z Fold 8’s record-breaking sales numbers as pre-order deals are ending

Following reports from the media, Samsung has officially confirmed the initial record-breaking sales numbers for its Galaxy Z Fold 8 right as pre-order deals are coming to their end.

In a post on its newsroom, Samsung confirms that the Galaxy Z Fold 8, Fold 8 Ultra, and Flip 8 have collectively sold 1.44 million units during the 7-day period from July 28 to August 3 – and that’s just in South Korea. It breaks a record previously set by the Galaxy Note 10 back in 2019.

Samsung’s post goes over some of the festivities around pre-sales in its home country, including long lines for in-person purchases and the introduction of the “New Galaxy AI Subscription Club,” which offers perks such as Care+ and boosting the value of the device for later trade-ins toward newer generations.

This comes, though, as Samsung is ending pre-order deals for the Galaxy Z Fold 8 series. The new foldable has been a hit and, as such, is also quite delayed in shipping. While shipments are set to arrive later this week for the August 7 release date, new Galaxy Z Fold 8 orders are delayed out to late August or September, with some variants delayed all the way into October.

For those looking to order, perks such as boosted trade-in values up to $1,200 and additional Samsung.com credit will change as of August 7, as will offers from third-party retailers such as Amazon’s additional trade-in boost and gift card, and Best Buy’s offers too. If you’re looking to get in on this new foldable, now is absolutely the time.
