This new Android & iPhone tracker hides in your bike or golf clubs with 3-year battery life [Gallery]

Pebblebee has launched “LÔC8,” a unique new Android Find Hub / Apple Find My tracker that’s designed to hide within your bike handles, golf clubs, and other places to help you keep tabs on your gear.

Available alongside the company’s host of other tracker form factors, Pebblebee “LÔC8” is tailor-made to fit in places you wouldn’t expect. The cylindrical tracker’s primary targets are bikes and golf clubs, but you can technically fit it in any “shaft-like” object. But it’s definitely designed to fit into an object rather than stand on its own.

“LÔC8” has a clear plastic shell that’s not designed to be exterior-facing. But, technically, it would function if you just threw it into a backpack or suitcase pocket. Probably pretty well, too, seeing as Pebblebee touts 3-year battery life and “uncompromised performance.” At least, as long as the battery stays in place, seeing as it’s exposed in the tube.

That battery isn’t rechargeable, but it is replaceable. At least, that’s what Pebblebee says. The ER10250 cell inside, at least from my brief research, seems very hard to purchase online, so this won’t be as simple of a replacement as swapping out a coin cell.

But the overall process of using this is pretty easy – certainly a lot easier than removing the grip from my bike handle (WD-40 solves all, if you’re curious).

The top of the tracker acts as a button, with a double-press activating pairing mode. From there, just connect via Android Find Hub (or iPhone Find My) on your nearby phone, insert the tracker in your bike or club or wherever you’re putting it and you’re done. There are two sleeves in the box to fit inside of bike handles of different sizes, though mainly for mountain bikes at this point. You can then slide your normal grip over the tracker. The battery goes on for three years and, if the tip of the tracker is still visible, you can see an LED light up when you locate it in the Find Hub app.

It’s a remarkably simple idea, but one that has the potential to be super useful. Bike thefts in cities are very common and, while it’s easy enough to add an AirTag-style tracker, something like this would be nearly impossible for a thief to remove. Meanwhile, for a golf club, there’s no option besides this. And it’s nice to see such an elegant solution come to reality. Pebblebee first told us about this initiative back in early 2025, and there are more ideas on the table including a “plate” style tracker that could be embedded in something like a pair of skis.

Pebblebee sells “LÔC8” in 1-pack and 4-pack options, the former costing $39.99 and being designed mainly for individual users as a DIY addition to existing gear. The 4-pack is specifically designed for golf club sets and to be installed by a professional.
