It’s not just you, Spotify is down in partial outage this morning

A partial outage has left the Spotify app in shambles, with core functions not working for many users.

Around 10am ET/7am PT this morning, a huge wave of Spotify users started reporting problems with the music streaming app. This includes a huge vertical spike in reports on DownDetector, as well as reports across social media.

Update: Spotify has confirmed it is aware of the outage and investigating.

Those affected report that search and other functions are inaccessible with a “Something went wrong” error message appearing.

Ironically, it’s ongoing music playback that seems to be affected least. Searching for new tracks or accessing playlists that aren’t downloaded to your device might not work, but playback seems to be working just fine – at least for now. Whether or not you can start playback will determine just how much this partial outage affects you.

Other features such as Spotify Connect are also impacted. Some reports of the app logging users out have also surfaced, with those users unable to sign back into the app.
