Previous Galaxy S27 Ultra leaks have directed attention to the new camera island, but don’t overlook the missing camera lens left behind with the Galaxy S26 Ultra. Apparently, that camera is the Samsung Galaxy S27 Ultra’s 10MP 3x zoom.
We’ve seen a selection of leaks with details galore, including privacy displays, battery upgrades, and more. Any render that’s come out has shown off an entirely new camera island design, and it’s become the focus of the new phone. Love it or hate it, it’s there and almost square.
According to another leak via @UniverseIce on Twitter/X, the Galaxy S27 Ultra won’t have a 3x optical zoom lens with a 10MP sensor. Instead, the phone will have a wide 1x lens setup and a 5x optical zoom unit – 50MP, if left unchanged as suggested.
The latest renders clearly show a missing lens if you compare the phone to last year’s model. The Galaxy S26 Ultra had a 3x and 5x optical zoom camera, totaling four sensors across the back of the phone. Now, sitting in a section of much larger real estate, the new camera array appears to have only three cameras.
A render posted by @OnLeaks labels portions of the new panel. Where previous renders showed another lens underneath the flash LED, this new render places the LED at the bottom, topped by additional sensors, a microphone, and what may now be the 5x zoom lens.
As is the case with nearly every Galaxy S series leak, these are to be taken with a grain of salt. Renders have come and gone, but we won’t know the final details until Samsung launches the device sometime in early 2027.
