Metro by T-Mobile gives you ‘more for your money’ with $20 unlimited plan, free Galaxy & iPhone

You’re probably paying too much for your cell phone plan. That’s annoyingly been the case for many for years, but there have been more and more great, low-cost options popping up in recent years, and Metro by T-Mobile is right now offering one of the best deals out there – just $20/month for unlimited service, as well as some offers that can get you a free Samsung Galaxy A17 smartphone or an iPhone 16e at no additional cost.

What is Metro by T-Mobile?

First things first, what even is Metro by T-Mobile? As the name implies, it’s a cellular carrier in the US that’s owned by T-Mobile. The difference? Mainly price. Metro runs on T-Mobile’s excellent network while offering better bang for your buck.

T-Mobile’s network was given the title of “Best Mobile Network” in the US based on an Ookla Speedtest analysis in the second half of 2025. With Metro, you’re getting all of that and a great value on top of it.

Affordable plans, free phone offers, taxes and fees included, and a 5-year guarantee* on pricing – it’s really hard to beat.

Plus, there are some great offers going on right now.

Bring your own device and get unlimited for $20/month

Firstly, there’s an offer that gives you unlimited service for just $20/month.

This deal gives you unlimited talk, text, and 5G data for just $20/month, with just one string attached – you have to prepay for 6 months of service. That means you’ll pay $120, but seeing as many customers are often paying that much for just a month or two of service, this is a great deal. It’s also 50% off of Metro’s usual pricing for this plan.

The only other requirements here are that you bring your own device, and that you’re a new Metro customer. For the former, it’s pretty easy to bring modern smartphones from one carrier to another, as they can be unlocked for use on another carrier after they’ve been paid off. If you’re on the hunt for a new unlocked phone, some of the best options 9to5Google has recently covered include Pixel 10a ($499) and Moto G Power ($399).

As is the case with virtually every other unlimited data plan, the first 35GB per month is at full speed, while data use beyond that might see slower speeds. And, as mentioned, you’re running on T-Mobile’s network throughout, with the same great coverage and speeds all over the US.

Free Galaxy A17 with Metro by T-Mobile

Another great offer here is a free Samsung Galaxy A17 5G with no activation fee – a $250 value (counting the cost of the device and the waived activation fees) – using the $40/month plan with unlimited talk, text, and data with a 5-year price guarantee*.

This offer is available to anyone looking to join Metro by T-Mobile. Simply sign up for the same unlimited plan mentioned above, just at the full $40/month price. From there, port over your existing phone number, and you’ll be eligible for a free Galaxy A17. You can even be a former Metro or T-Mobile customer – you just need to have been away for at least 180 days. There’s no activation fee, plus taxes and fees are included in your prices.

iPhone 16e at no cost with Metro by T-Mobile

If you’re looking at making the switch from Android to iOS, or just prefer the iPhone to begin with, another Metro by T-Mobile offer is for an iPhone 16e at no added cost. For this deal, you’ll need to meet a couple of key qualifications:

  • Port your existing number
  • Use Metro’s $50 (with AutoPay) plan

The first month will cost $55, and $50 from that point on with AutoPay turned on. You’ll also get a $100 prepaid Mastercard after the third monthly payment. Like the Galaxy A17 offer, you don’t have to be a brand new customer, but you can’t have had an active line at Metro or T-Mobile within the past 180 days. You’ll also need to provide your ID during the purchase.

There’s no added cost for the phone here, nor are there any activation fees. Just an iPhone 16e at no cost on one of Metro’s best unlimited plans. The $50 plan includes 8GB of hotspot data, a 100GB Google One membership, and the ability to upgrade your phone later too.

*Exclusions Apply. Guarantees mo. Plan price of on-network, talk, text & 5G data on eligible plan. See details at metrobyt-mobile.com
