Google adds Bitcoin currency conversion tool to search results

If you have ever wondered how many Bitcoins you can afford with your American dollars, you can now turn to Google. Following in the footsteps of Bing and Yandex, Google has partnered with CoinBase to add a Bitcoin currency conversion tool to its search results.

Simply type in a search phrase like “one dollar in Bitcoin” or “1 BTC in USD,” and Google will display the conversion in an in-line box. The conversion tool also shows the historical value of Bitcoins.

Bitcoin is a peer-to-peer cryptocurrency that can be sent from your smartphone, tablet or computer from anywhere in the world. The virtual currency is open source and has state-of-the-art encryption.
