Along with the protective casing, the device has what is described as a tougher C-Pen stylus. You might wonder how many Galaxy Tab variants are needed, but the company says that it consulted with Fortune 500 companies to determine what was needed from a professional tablet …
The Galaxy Tab Active represents Samsung’s commitment to meeting customer needs. In order to learn what business leaders wanted from a mobile device for optimal performance and efficiency, Samsung engaged in a series of advisory group workshops with Fortune 500 companies. The top companies across vertical markets, such as retail, logistics and transportation participated, providing valuable feedback that went directly into the development of the Galaxy Tab Active.
Specs, it appears, were not high on the list of those requirements. The 8-inch tablet has a relatively modest spec of 1.2GHz quad-core processor, 1280×800 LCD display, 3.1MP rear camera, 1.5GB RAM and 16GB storage. Ok, so perhaps not quite so good for watching movies, then.
