Hands-on with the beautiful Android Wear powered Huawei Watch (Video)

As many of you know already, when it comes to Android Wear smart watches, style is the defining factor. The software experience will be the same on any Android Wear smartwatch, but the mobile market is still trying to prove it can deliver on something that’s not only functional, but stylish as well. This year at MWC 2015, Huawei became a serious competitor in the smart watch space. Meet Huawei Watch. I think you’ll like it…

Huawei has unveiled something quite amazing for all of you Android Wear fans out there. Huawei Watch is possible the best looking smartwatch we’ve seen to date. As mentioned, there’s nothing different here in terms of software and functionality, but this design is one of the best I’ve seen on an Android Wear smartwatch.

The bezels are super thin and it’s just about the right size for any wrist. Between those thin bezels is a round 1.4-inch AMOLED display protected by sapphire glass with a resolution of 400 x 400 coming in at 286 ppi.

Given those specifications, I think may be the highest resolution Android Wear smartwatch so far. Internally, you’ll find the usual suspects including a 1.2GHz Qualcomm chip, 512MB of RAM, 4GB of on-board storage, a heart rate sensor, and a barometer.

The design is very sleek and in comparison to LG’s G Watch R, I’d pick the Huawei Watch any day of the week. The Huawei Watch will be available in three colors including stainless steel, anodized black, and gold which is said to contain 3 ounces of 24 karat gold. There will also be a wide variety straps available including a high quality leather and a Milanese Loop design.

Pricing and availability has not been announced just yet, but it will definitely be available this year in more than 20 countries. I personally think this is a beautiful smartwatch and would gladly wear it over the compeition, but let us know your thoughts in the comments section below. What do you think about Huawei watch?
