In a blog post on its website, Instagram announced that version 4.1 would be rolling out soon to Google Play and with it comes new features including the ability to import video from your device’s library:
Starting today you can upload videos from your phone’s media library and share those moments to Instagram regardless of when they were captured. Once you select the video clip you’d like to import, you can trim it down to the exact part you like best. We’ve also made it so that you can choose how you square-crop your clip so you can keep the action front and center.
Starting with today’s release users running Ice Cream Sandwich will now be able to access the Instagram Video feature, which the company notes has been a big complaint since the launch of the new feature earlier this year. Also announced today was a new “Automatic Straightening” feature for iOS, although there’s no word yet on if that feature is heading to Android anytime soon.
