Asus announces Transformer Book V Android/Windows 3-in-1, new Fonepad & MeMO tablets

Asus today announced a number of new Android tablets for Computex 2014 including a new lineup for the MeMO Pad Series, a next-generation Fonepad, and a hybrid tablet/laptop/smartphone Transformer Book that runs both Windows and Android. Head below for all the details.

The Transformer Book V includes a 12.5-inch display and, according to Asus, is “the world’s first five-mode, three-in-one covered laptop that features a Windows and Android laptop and tablet as well as an Android smartphone.” As pictured above, the device is essentially a 5-inch smartphone that docks into a larger 12.5-inch tablet that can be used as a laptop in conjunction with an attached keyboard setup. You’ll also be able to easily switch between Windows 8.1 and Android 4.4. Specs include up 1TB of storage in laptop mode, 128GB for tablet mode, a 2500mah battery, a 12.5-inch HD IPS display, and next-generation Intel Core CPU.

Next up for Asus today is a new 8-inch Fonepad phablet that includes a slimmer 5.06mm bezel, an HD1280 x 800 IPS display, dual front facing speakers, a 64-bit Intel Atom™ Z3560 1.8GHz quad-core processor and what Asus says is “the largest viewing area of any 8-inch phablet on the market.” It appears to be a 3G only device, unfortunately with no mention of LTE in Asus’s press release.

The company also spent time today talking two new MeMO Pad Android tablets including a 7-inch model and an 8-inch model.

On the 7-inch you’ll find a Intel Atom Z3745 quad-core processor, while the 8-inch model steps up to a 64-bit Intel Atom Z3580 2.3GHz quad-core processor. Asus spent more time on the 8-inch model, which it says is “the world’s lightest 8-inch LTE tablet”, and also noted 802.11ac Wi-Fi but not much else. The 7-inch has a 5-megapixel main camera and 2 megapixel on the front, but that’s all Asus is sharing for specs for now.
