ASUS gives the world a quick look at its new smartwatch

Last week ASUS confirmed that it will unveil its new smartwatch on September 3rd at IFA in Berlin, and today the company shared a glimpse of what we can expect to see next week. Taking to its official Facebook page, the Taiwanese electronics maker posted sketches of  of its forthcoming smartwatch. Accompanied by a quote from Khalil Gibran, that was used last week to announce the device’s IFA event, the image’s text reads: “Time has been transformed, and we have changed.”

ASUS currently has several products on the market that use the “Transformer” name. Perhaps this recycled quote is a clue that the company plans on using the Transformer moniker with its smartwatch. As for the device itself, it appears to have a curved display, giving it more of a traditional watch design, and from the looks of the picture’s chicken scratch,  the gadget will have a leather wristband. It’s rumored that ASUS’ new smartwatch will run Android Wear and ship with an affordable asking price, between $100 to $150, however this has yet to be confirmed. Whatever the case, we’ll find out what ASUS has planned in a little bit more than a week.
