Privacy-focused Blackphone maker working on a new tablet

The Blackphone

If expressions like “Big Brother” and “The Man” make you feel uneasy, there’s a slight chance that you may have ponied up $629 for the security-focused Blackphone. But if your 4.7-inch Android PrivateOS handset isn’t quite big enough to meet your anonymous web browsing needs, Silent Circle co-founder Jon Callas is working on a solution.

He recently revealed to BBC Newsbeat that his firm is in the process of developing a new tablet, saying that the Blackphone isn’t his company’s last device. Tight-lipped as expected, Callas didn’t share any hardware-specific details about the new gadget, but did hint that it would be coming soon. Like the Blackphone, we’d expect Silent Circle’s stealthy slate to focus on privacy and we’re willing to bet that it won’t be cheap.
