HTC’s latest One flagship has been one of the worst kept secrets in the mobile world recently, and now the company itself has contributed to the rumor mill. Mobile blog TechTastic has noticed that there are several references to the One M9 in HTC’s own website HTML code. The references seemingly confirm the existence of the device and the name under which it will be sold and marketed.
For most, the HTC One M9 name seemed to be a given, but there was some still doubt regarding whether or not the company would continue with M# naming scheme. The original HTC One was known only internally as the M7, with the company never using the M# name scheme with the public.
The HTC One M9 is rumored to pack a 5-inch display with a 20.7-megapixel rear camera and a 13-megapixel front-facing camera. Other specs include a Snapdragon 810 processor, 3GB of RAM, and a 2,840 mAh battery.
The HTC One M9 is expected to be unveiled on March 1st at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. We’ll have full coverage of the week’s events.
