Bloomberg: HTC One M9 and smartwatch to be unveiled in March

HTC-STD-MWC-2015

Bloomberg on Monday reported that Taiwanese handset maker HTC will unveil its flagship One M9 smartphone and first smartwatch in March. HTC is widely expected to announce the new products at Mobile World Congress as part of its press event scheduled for March 1st.

According to the report, the HTC One M9 will feature a 20-megapixel rear-facing camera and HTC UltraPixel front-facing camera, while the smartwatch will pair with Under Armour’s fitness service after the two companies reached a partnership earlier this month.

The report adds that the One M9 will be similar to the look and feel of the One M8, available in gold, silver and gray options. Leaked hardware specifications also call for a 5-inch display, Qualcomm 8-core Snapdragon 810 processor, 3GB of RAM, 2,840 mAh battery and VoLTE.

The smartphone will likely run Android Lollipop out of the box, overlaid with HTC’s custom Sense 7 skin. For those that prefer a stock flavor of Android Lollipop, it remains to be seen if HTC once again sells a Google Play edition of its flagship smartphone. More details should roll out as we move closer to Mobile World Congress.
