Update: It looks like Android 5.0 is rolling out to the AT&T Galaxy S4 as well.
The rollout of Android Lollipop (and, now, 5.1 as well) has just been this consistently nagging leaky faucet, and today comes with the introduction of more software updates on even more handsets. As we told you yesterday, AT&T’s HTC One M8 should finally be receiving the Material-laden software starting today. But on top of that, today also marks the day that LG’s G Pad 8.3 Google Play Edition will begin receiving Android 5.1…
Reports on social media (via Android Police) have confirmed that the latest version of Google’s mobile operating system is indeed rolling out to the 2013 LG tablet. This tablet has actually received Android 5.1 before many Nexus devices, which is notable considering even Google’s own latest tablet—the Nexus 9—hasn’t received the update yet. The update should be rolling out in stages, so keep your eyes on About tablet > System updates to see if it has hit yours yet.
As for owners of the HTC One M8 on AT&T, though, this is the first time you’ll be able to get your hands on just plain-old 5.0.2 Lollipop. you can head over to AT&T’s website to read the full changelog, but all the Lollipop goodies like Material Design and enhanced notifications should be at your disposal. This update is also rolling out in stages, so you should see it hit your device at some point over the coming days.
