HTC announced this morning that its mid-range Desire 626 will be landing on UK store shelves very soon. The manufacturer has partnered with O2, Three and Carphone Warehouse to launch the budget-friendly Android smartphone in White Birch, Blue Lagoon, Purple Fire and Dark Grey color options. No pricing or specific launch date was revealed.
HTC’s Desire 626 features a 5-inch, 720×1820 resolution LCD display. It’s powered by a quad-core 1.2GHz Snapdragon processor, has a 13MP rear camera and a 5MP front-facing snapper. You can also record 1080p video with either of those cameras. Although the 16GB internal storage is modest, you can expand it up to a massive 512GB using a MicroSD card. Perhaps most importantly, the device runs the latest publicly available version of Android: 5.1 Lollipop and has HTC Sense 7 UI on top, complete with BlinkFeed and EYE Experience.
If you’re in the US, you can grab the 626 from a handful of national, regional and prepaid carriers. Or you can snag one from Amazon for $239.
